Overall, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo V2 was cleanly manufactured and we can now start with the installation. As our video shows, the changes address the two main issues of the Hyper 212 Evo. ![]() On the back, you can see through the cooling fins very clearly and see the four heatpipes. If it does, you can simply push the fan up a bit on the cooler. The four 6mm heatpipes have been carefully ground and polished, but of course do not reflect like a nickel-plated surface.įrom the side, you can see the structure of the stacked aluminum fins and the asymmetrical design, so that the cooler does not protrude into the RAM socket on the side with the fan mounted. This serves to improve the heat transfer and is called Heatpipe Direct Touch, or HDT for short. The heatpipes were bent asymmetrically for better RAM compatibility and have direct contact to the CPU again. In terms of noise, the Hyper 212 EVO was the loudest, followed by the Hans cooler, then the Ouranos with the Dark Rock TF being the quietest. Here you can see the cooler’s underside still with the protective foil. The Hans cooler only slightly outperformed the Hyper 212 EVO but did so at a much lower fan RPM meaning the system performed similarly while being noticeably quieter which is a plus. On the top of the cooler you can see very good the eight ends of the total of four 6mm heatpipes. ![]() The Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 fan is equipped with 7 rotor blades and is plugged onto the cooler with a previously screwed plastic bracket. Snap the fan onto the cooler and connect the 4 pin PWM connector to the CPU FAN header on the board. This is what the new Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo V2 cooler looks like with a pre-installed 120mm fan. Make sure to alternate tightening each clip, one turn at a time to ensure even spread of the thermal paste. Position the two metal clips over the plastic mounting points and tighten the thumb screws. The exhaust should push air toward the exhausts of the case (either back or top). If you have 2 fans, one should be an intake and the other an exhaust on this cooler. You can purchase a second as the clips are shipped with the packaging of the cooler for both fans (but only one fan). Once thermal paste has been applied (or if using the pre-applied thermal paste) place the cooler evenly onto the CPU. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO comes with only one fan. In this example we can see with Corsair LPX modules, there is ample clearance but installation would not be possible in slot #4 (far left) with the cooler installed first. For the most part, the Hyper 212 Evo maintains the design. #Hyper 212 evo install video update#
